Most of these ideas are plastic free too

What better way to help and support others, a present to help improve their mental health not only for Christmas, but gifts that will sustain them in the coming months and perhaps years

1 Craft kit – could be Christmas themed or a general kit

2 Gift of your time – offer to help with childcare, cleaning, caring responsibilities – while they have some time off, time to relax and do something they enjoy

3 Subscription to the Calm app or Headspace – to help improve mind and happiness, meditation and sleep made simple

4 Soft toy – rabbit, teddy bear, dog, cat

5 Bird food or bird feeder – then listen to the sound of the birds

6 Body cream – hand cream, foot cream, facial oil

7 Donation to a mental health charity – for those who “have everything” and would like to improve the mental health of others (if this is what someone ask asked for!)

8 Gratitude journal – bullet journal, luxury notebook, pens, colouring pencils, colouring books

9 Vitamin G – not a real vitamin – G for green – connect with nature – membership to the National Trust, Kew Gardens, plan a walk together in a local park, house plant, tree for the garden

10 We relax when we chat to others – plan to get together – remember to listen as well as talk!

11 Physical book or subscription to a magazine – alternative to scrolling on a mobile, and also good for those who look at screens all day at work

12 Adult education class – mindfulness course, Tai Chi, yoga, learn to paint or draw

13 Voucher for a massage – facial, spa, manicure, pedicure

14 Soft cosy scarf – warm gloves or hat

16 Musical gift – record, CD, voucher to down load some music, music lesson/s, musical instrument, singing lessons

17 New bedding – cosy bed socks, lavender oil, pillow spray, new PJs, hot water bottle, wheat bag, comfortable slippers

18 For the Cook in your life – recipe book, kitchen gadget – cooking can be a great way to de-stress after work!

19 Cushions – V shaped cushion – textured/fluffy cushions

20 Invite people round for a home cooked meal, or offer to make a meal or cake and deliver it for them
